We set off for this walk with friends and family. The ascent to the refuge is steep and climbs between the rocks with some sections where there are steel ropes. The effort is fully rewarded by the landscape with a view of the Vajolet Towers. With another 20 minutes you reach the top of the pass, where there is the Santner refuge which has been closed for some time. The view here is stupendous. The Re Alberto refuge is a beautiful structure, recently modernised. The food is good and the staff is welcoming. 2 bathrooms and 1 shower (for a fee) for all 60 guests of the refuge, probably not the best but you can't expect double rooms with bathroom and hot shower either. The price is high, considering the services offered. It is adequate when referring to the context. The sunset and sunrise seen in the refuge are a unique spectacle.

Enjoyed a wonderful overnight stay here courtesy of the amazing hostess Valeria and her team. Some might find the final hike, helped by chains in a few places, up to the hut a bit challenging but it is so worth it. The house is in shade in the early afternoon but enjoys beautiful sunshine in the late afternoon and at sunrise.
The rooms are not heated but super thick duvets are provided on every bed. The restaurant which is also understandably favored by day hikers is really great, their polenta with ragout was a huge portion of comfort food, much needed and enjoyed after a several hour hike.

First experience of a night in a refuge. I think I chose the perfect excursion. Structure located on the slopes of the Vajolet towers which can be reached after a truly challenging climb from it. Once at the top, however, you find welcome and refreshment in every sense.
The staff is really kind and friendly, the structure is well looked after although obviously essential as it should be. Honest price, good cuisine (even gluten-free!!) and all in a wonderful setting. I will carry this experience in my heart.

Historic refuge in an exceptional position, under the magnificent Vajolet towers. Path of about an hour from Rifugio Vaiolet, very demanding due to its steepness (there are three rather long passages with fixed ropes), which is especially difficult on the descent.
The effort is rewarded by the panoramic view and the proximity to the Vajolet towers.
For the rest, prices are high but average for the area, sufficient cuisine and good wifi, as are the USB charging points.

This rifugio was amazing. The location is fabulous. The family that runs it takes great pride in their service and the accommodations and bathrooms were clean, comfortable and plentiful. The dinner and breakfast were both delicious and the servings were plentiful for hungry travelers.

Great hiking day thanks to the spectacular views all along the way, and the final one of the Vajolet towers in particular. I got there taking the cableway in Vigo di Fassa (a free shuttle service takes you from the parking lot to the cableway) , then walking on an easy path until Rifugio Gardeccia. From there there’s an uphill one-hour-long hike to Rifugio Vajolet and finally a steep and quite challenging climb up to Rifugio are Alberto. But it’s all worth it!

A really nice place managed by really nice people. The room are big and clean as well as the beds. Rifugio Re Alberto is situated in one of the most beautiful place I've ever seen, surrounded by the dolomiti mountains and the 3 Torri del Vajolet. Inside those "walls" the silence si absolute. This place is strongly recomended.

I have hiked up to this hut after more than 2 hour ascent from the parking place of minibus going here from Pozza Di Fasso.
This mountain hut (1.620m) has restaurant. Continuing even higher, I got to Passo Santner (2.780m).Returned the same way down.
Excellent full day trip for trained hikers.

Unbelievable great place. Views, landscapes, food, service - all is exceptionally good. One of the most beautiful places I visited ever. Takes a time to climb here, but you should do this.

Quite difficult to get to but well worth it. The taxi bus that used to take people up from the valley to the plateau has stopped as of 2019 so you must get one of the lifts up, we used the Funivia from Vigo then walked up past the gardeccia rifugio then past the vajolet rifugio, after that the walk turns into a bit of a scramble with some steel cables. The staff are great and really friendly, the hut shuts at the end of september for winter.
You can buy a token for a shower. Best to book by email or phone
