Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely little church in a lovely little town. Nice museum next door too. Godfather fans will want to go for obvious reasons.

You need a car to gain access to this village or you will wait a long time for a bus.Its in the mountains. It is an extremely quiet little village made famous by one of the Godfather films where they filmed a scene of Vito escaping hidden in a donkey. This is a pretty little church based in the main part of the village. The village mainly consists of one long street with a couple of side streets and a derelict old castle. Its worth an hour visit but no more.If you walk from the church up the main street there is a little coffee shop on your right whereby you can eat/drink on their balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. If you go to this village also go a bit further to the village of Savocca (Another godfather village which in my opinion is bigger and prettier).

We visited Forza as part of the Godfather tour and the chuch featured in the Godfather 3 as Michael (Al Pacino) is reminissing about his own marriage. Forza is 400 meters above sea level and the views across the bay are stunning and even if you have no interest in the Godfather films the village is well worth a visit. The Church is known as the old church as there is a larger newer church in the village, but the old one has more characteur and the interior is exquisite.

What a gorgeous setting for a church. The walk up the stairs and the courtyard at the top, give way to a lovely church inside. Not surprisingly used in the Godfather trilogy for filming.

We visited Forza D’Agro as part of a Godfather tour.
We were taken to this lovely church & spent time inside & outside.
The outside of the church was used to film scenes in The Godfather 3 film.

If you go to Forza D'Agrò just park your car, be sure that you place your ticket for the park control officer, then start to walk around the groovy ways and enjoy the beautiful set.
This church has a scenic stairway and beautiful marble arts inside.

We went to Forza d'Agro on a beautiful early fall day: sunny warm breezy. It was a very nice surprise, as most coastal mountain top villages in Italy. We walked around a while and climbed a wide set of stairs to the church, passing under a beautiful arch (The Scalinata della Triade e Arco Durazzesco) to gain access at last to the church. We were told some scenes of the Godfather movie were filmed here. The church is interesting and on the side one can get access to the ex-convent of the Augustinians, with a nice cloister.
