We stayed in the lovely town of Magome and then hit the trail early the next morning. There's some steep inclines in the first half hour, which my legs weren't used to! We put a halfhearted effort into ringing the bells, as we didn't really...More

A beautiful 8km walk from Magome to Tsumago, following paved roads, dirt tracks, steep stairways and crossing bridges. A fairly easy walk which we did in our vans-type shoes. Recommend walking from Magome to Tsumago for an easier walk (more downhill than uphill), however expect...More

I would recommend this to anyone who likes to hike! Beautiful scenery that changes along the way. You also pass through preserved towns and a tea house where you can warm up and relax. I did this hike in mid November and foliage was beautiful.

Nakasendo goes from Tokyo to Kyoto but where it's conserved the best is near Gifu prefecture and Nagano prefecture which is closer to Nagoya. You can take train from Nagoya direct to nakatsugawa station, from where you can... More

You can continue walking on to Nagiso but I didn't see any information beyond that.
