If you are wanting to visit an authentic Cape fishing village, then look no further! This is no artificial settlement built to rake in tourists, but a real working community, focussed on fishing, which has been in existence long before the word "tourism" was invented. It was an interesting experience to wander round and take in the sights - some... More

We stayed at the Kassiesbaai Cottage for 2 nights and made a point of meeting the locals. Friendly people who made us feel welcome at all times. Loved the experience and learned lots about the history of the area

This little village reminded me of a Scottish fishing village so felt right at home and loved exploring it. Visited a little craft shop then came upon a restaurant called Willeens run by Diana which had tables outside with a wonderful view of the beach. Great seafood or toasted sandwiches and a lovely place to enjoy some of the local... More

An authentic fishing village of stone and thatch houses where the fishermen and their families live. Interesting to see houses in various stages of being built in the age-old method. I walked around the village and felt completely safe. This is an original and working fisherman's village not a replica. The buildings are their home and I found it really interesting to wander. Highly recommend

People are friendly. Houses are in their original form. Beautiful fishing village. We stopped at Wileens for drinks. it's a quaint restaurant offering fresh food. You can also buy local art by the locals.
