Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just paid 440,000 dong for a jeep tour which included fairy spring, fishing village, red and white sand dunes. Fairy springs and the fishing village and 5 min drive between each other the sand dune an extra 6.5km so not exactly far to drive. Fairy springs was average, fishing village was ok but our trip to the red sand dunes was so disappointing. Because we booked the jeep tour we thought the jeep would go onto to the Sand dunes but as we arrived the jeep parked up and the driver said we had to pay an extra 600,000 dong for a quad bike or 200,000 dong for a quad with a driver. We never get told this at all when we booked it. We never bothered with the white sand dunes and went straight back to the hotel.... this is just to warn any one before booking. Probably would of been cheaper to get a taxi and book quads. Just an absolute waste of money, so disappointed :( I’ve added a photo of the tour operator we booked with.

No entrance fee. Nice dunes and great sunset view! There are many people sliding down the dunes with a plastic sheet and my hubby even jumping down the dunes. As this is an unshelter place, highly recommended to visit either early morning or late afternoon to enjoy thee nice view of sunrise/sunset.

We had nice time, relaxing nice breeze and view. It was a bit windy and coldish when it was evening so kind to take warm clothes. When we returned down from the dunes all our bodies were covered with sand cu the wind blows with sand.

In advance, I thought this would be very touristic and therefore become a dissapointing experience. But in the end , it was totally worth it. We were almost alone, the weather was good and we found a great spot to take pictures. Definitely visit the red sand dunes when being in Mui Ne!

Pile of rubbish, literally. Don't waste your time here, drop a pin anywhere on maps and it will be a better place to watch a sunset. The place is just piled high of rubbish. It would be a public dump in other countries. Horrible.

À dump indeed as per previous reviews. A nothing special sand dune with plastic litter, face masks etc literally everywhere... Don't bother. Quad bike up and over the White dune and by the lake much more worthwhile.

This place is beautiful, however it’s clear no one cares about it. It’s covered in trash. The area in general has so much potential but is one big garbage dump that clearly the locals, tourists or government do not care about

Paid for a jeep tour to take us to the red sand dunes but it was a real disappointment. Took a few photos but there wasn't much to see or do and the area was just like the size of a large field covered in reddish coloured sand. Not many formations or stunning views.

These dunes are rubbish, literally. I've seen less trash on a rubbish dump. White sand dunes much better and no rubbish. Couldn't think of a worse place to watch sunset.

going to Red Sand Dune (Mui Ne) , which bus should i ride? if i am staying at Muine Town
Written 10 August 2017
Is this the only place that you wish to visit? I have not seen public buses plying that route. As mentioned by other reviewers, various forms of transport including taxis are available but the most popular is the 4 hour jeep tour for US$8/pax and it brings you to White Sand Dunes, Red Sand Dunes, Fishing Village and Fairy Stream. Discuss with your friendly lodging provider and I am sure they can find something suitable for you.

IS White lake and White Sand Dunes at same place?
IF not, What time is recommended to visit these two places?
Written 4 April 2017
No you can easily do it on your own. Renting a motorbike or one of the jeep tours is probably a the best and most affordable way. I think our tour started at 4.30 or 5.00 am.

Any recommendable hotels nearby White Sand Dunes or Red sand dune?
Written 20 March 2015
The dunes are not that close together but not a great distance either. I saw a lot of hotels along the way coming from Phan Theit to the red dunes.

Hi, I will be arriving at HCM Airport around 8am. Do u think I would be able to get 2 bus tix to go Mui Ne on that very same day? I don't wanna take the risk of booking the hotel there and not being able to make it by bus.
Written 20 March 2015
You should be able to. I took a bus from downtown. It cost 5 US and took about 5 hours. It was a two level interior recliner seating bus. Quite comfortable. I don't know if you can get a bus from the airport and may need to take a taxi to the bus station. You may also need to reserve a ticket.
