Of course all of the lakes are lovely in the Lake District, this is one of six. All are beautiful with views and walks. This would be and is a wonderful area to visit for outdoor activities!

This is a far more relaxed and quiet lake than your Windermere or Coniston. Definitely worth a visit here, not busy in the car parking spaces on the roads and these are nicely placed for getting up to the waters edge and walking round the...More

I came down with work. Just came for a walk down by the lake as I had cabin fever. Not the best place in the lakes but nice of you just want some peace and quiet.

Lovely lake to walk about. Can't go all the way round, but still beautiful. Lake district is a great place for dogs and kids.

A showery fell walk today yet temperatures around 19 dgs; with the route of the ascent from St. Margaret's Church to the summit of Sale Fell with blissful views of Bassenthwaite. Not for elderly as reasonably steep ascent. A pity that there is not a circular...More

Hello, I'm sorry you have been misinformed, we didn't cycle round Bassenthwaite lake. Just had a brilliant stay at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel.
