We visited in September for my Husband's Birthday. We had a ride on steam train and then on a vintage bus. The staff were lovely, friendly and informative and we had a great day out. Our three year old son loved it. Would definitely visit again, great value for money.

We took our 3 grandchildren out for the day, we went on the train 3 times as the kids enjoyed it so much. The day we went they had Paw Patrol characters there and although the queues were long it was so well organised you didn't have to wait long to have your pictures taken, free of charge. We got... Went there in August and accidentally spent the whole day there, it may seem like a dull thing but there's just something about going back and forward on a steam train in the old cars (which are very nice for their age). It is genuinely a fantastic day out, may be even better if you have young kids. Would recommend... More

we had a very leisurely day at Epping Ongar Railway. Cheap day out, lovely to hear children getting excited at the steam trains and also the looks on some of the adults faces. All the staff were only too happy to spend time with you and answer any questions.

My friend and I visited today with the plan of catching the first train from Ongar, travelling up the line and back. The line was interesting, the volunteers friendly, the locos and rolling stock interesting varied and the bacon sandwiches and rombout coffee very welcome. We travelled up the line as planned but in the return the loco failed at... More

I visited the railway whilst on a recent visit to the UK from NZ, having not been to Ongar in over 30 years. I was very impressed with the preservation work that has been completed and enjoyed my experience a great deal. I particularly liked the way the railway connects with several vintage London buses which take you through some... More

Visited with a family group (13 people) celebrating a birthday. We parked in the LT Underground car park at Epping (£2 on Saturdays) and took the bus to North Weald. The historic bus ride was a great start - having a wonderful conductor (do you remember them?), who was great with the little ones got us off to a great... More

My first visit to the EOR was planned with some friends to visit their September 2016 Diesel Gala and we were very impressed with the line, stations and facilities. Compared with other heritage railways, we were slightly disappointed by the lack of working toilets on the trains but it was clear that the volunteers were trying really hard to create... More
