Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cook Park is an 8Km stretch of beachfront along Botany Bay. It fronts onto Ramsgate Beach and between the two environments anything can happen. The day we visited was to find a patch of grass to sit and eat our souvlakia and chips which we purchased from one of the food outlets across the road. We joined hundreds of other who were variously, swimming, playing cricket, strolling, canoodling, picnicking, or just hanging out. Children were chasing seagulls which swooped and squawked demanding our chips.
Every now and again a gaggle of bike riders drifted past. The Cook Cycleway offers a shared zone for pedestrians and bike riders from Sydney's CBD through to Kurnell on the southern shore of Botany Bay. It actually joins up with the Cooks River bikeway, another route which goes through to Homebush Bay, site of the Sydney Olympics.
This was a lazy weekend day with perfectly fine weather. The happy sounds drifting across the Bay were broken only by some young men hooning around on ski jets, sometimes looping in a bit close to young children swimming along the beach line. The jets are supposed stay outside the yellow buoys, but youth is sometimes wont to tempt the devil.
Within this park are plenty of food outlets, change rooms, shade trees, picnic tables, public toilets, and places to spread on the grass. There is plenty to look at including the planes taking off and landing across the Bay at Kingsford Smith Airport.
Botany Bay is famous because of Captain Cook first landing at Kurnell when he was looking for a place to recommend for settlement and the establishment of a penal colony. He in fact rejected Botany Bay because it was so open and subject to the impact of wind. There seemed no safe haven for ships, so, for this reason, Australia's first European settlement was established in the next harbour North, Port Jackson. His reason for rejecting Botany Bay is our reason for loving it. Because the Bay is so open, what you see is an expanse of water through to the heads. This can be very head clearing and mind expanding.
This would have to be one of Sydney nicest family picnicking and swimming places. Botany Bay is great for young children because there are no waves. Access is by public transport (bus), or by care. There are plenty of places to park in parking lots provided by Rockdale Council.

This park by the water is a great place to wind down at the end of the week. Plenty of local take away food options or bring a picnic. Great area for kids to play and for the adults to unwind. It is also an interesting place to watch the planes land and take off from Sydney Airport.

There is a shared cycle path that takes you all the way along the coastline.
Still has issues with certain groups of people leaving their rubbish behind. Nevertheless it's a good place to exercise and enjoy the views.

I have not seen a beach that is good only for jogging but not sunbathing. This is the one. The trees that once lined up the beach is intentionally destroyed to get more space for joggers, shame!

A little spoilt by lazy people who do not clean up after themselves. Still a great place to walk or cycle along.

The last time we were in the area were years ago. Now the entire area, Cook Park and beach front has transformed to a beautiful place, clean and spacious, the tall trees are trimed with style, the sand have definitely gone much finer and whiter than I recalled. A lovely place for a walk, relax and just soak up some sun. Definitely will revisit.

Out for an early morning run yesterday and it was worth the chill to take in some great views of the city skyline and the ocean. The dolls point renovation has been finished and there is new seating and a more defined cycling path. There are still works at san souci end so you cant enjoy the full path right now. A lot more bins around so there is less of a rubbish problem.

This park is quite long and is between Brighton-Le-Sands and Dolls Point. The park around the Ramsgate Surf Life Saving Club has just had a renovation with new paths and car parks.
There is plenty of seating along the beach area, with a walking path on the beach edge. There is also plenty of sand and a couple of swimming enclosures.

There is a lot of construction and remediation activity towards the dolls point end of the park.
It's still a good place for a walk or a cycle and you can watch the surf or the planes as you go. Would be great if the council made some effort to stop all the rubbish dumping by a small minority that have no respect for the environment.

This narrow park covers the whole western shore of Botany Bay. There are good views of the bay, beaches the whole way and several netted areas for swimming (water’s clean these days, and they’re shallow with no waves so good for kids). The main path can get overrun by aggressive cyclists but you can usually walk on grass, the beach, or a beachfront path. Unfortunately, the area is still pretty scummy. The park is backed by a noisy road and the park is not in good condition - filthy, damaged toilets, rusty, leaking roofs on huts, lots of rubbish. There are various restaurants of varying quality nearby but a distinct lack of places to drink.
