I'll be brief. The village is small and somewhat dirty. Everything, from the welcome boat river crossing to the dinner restaurant is grossly overpriced (I am not ignoring the quality of food and service). There is an vivid culture to maximize tourists' exploitation. The beach is ordinary at best. Spend your time and money elsewhere.…

It takes 1 hour from trancoso to get to the other side of the river from where the beach is. The road is a nightmare of potholes in a dirty road. A 4x4 is a must. Some parts are flooded and requires serious patience. The town has absolutely nothing to see. Poverty and dusty. If beach is what you are looking for take a boat or go to espelho or trancoso itself. No worth the stress and petrol. …

Caraiva Beach it's just amazing to see how a river goes into the sea. There's plenty of space for you to take a sunbathe or catch waves. You can enjoy the hippie vibe of the place, dance forró and stare to the horizon with beautiful sunsets.
