Weather conditions for us were excellent & we saw a number of Kotuku, some very close, but visitors must be quiet and remain aware of their surroundings if they are to see these elusive birds

Yet another great stop on our fantastic journey. Very sleepy little village. Special views. Go for a quick walk on the beach and feel the charm of the area

Away from in all....deserted windy beach with the odd seal on it if you are lucky. Very worthwhile to get away from the madding crowds ...wonderful

The Okarito Lagoon is a wonderful place to poke around and observe nature at work. Whether you take a tour or do it independently this is a large area of naturalness. A great place to relax and enjoy.

The lagoon and the walk up the hill beyond, with the ferns and waterfalls is a great 30 minute activity. A good way to see nature.

Not for swimming, but for silent meditation is really good. For lovers of nature, not to much for lovers beaching.

Took some lovely photos here at sunset. Would love to return one day. We didn’t have great weather so we moved on the next day.
