A visit to Lake Hovsgol is highly recommended. The sister lake to Russia's Lake Baikal, Lake Khovsgol is breathtaking. Take in the scenery and crystal clear water. All year round, Lake Khovsgol has something for everyone. A visit in winter is equally mesmerising. If you...More

Huge lake surrounded by the Siberian taiga and backed on its W side by rugged mountains. Worth exploring the coastline and the forest paths. Peaceful and beautiful.

Not quite 5 stars in my mind but a beautiful spot nonetheless. To me it seemed quite touristy by Mongolian standards and there are nicer lakes in the world (Balmain comes to mind) Worth a visit though !

Spent a few days here staying at a Get camp on the quieter eastern side of the lake. Absolutely stunning setting to relax and enjoy the alpine lake scenery with its mixture of turquoise and blues.

I'd heard there was now a dive shop on Lake Khövsgöl, saw the sign as we drove by the resort, walked up to a ger and asked if there was any possibility of me going diving with them. Less than an hour later I was...More
