I took a ride for ninety minutes to Parangtritis Beach from the downtown of Yogyakarta, perhaps it was the nearest one outside the city. The beach was famous for her black sand, but the big waves signified that it was not suitable to swim in...More

This is probably the best place to drown in Asia. Rip tides and undertow (deep trough to suck you down) will bring you to meet the Queen of the Southern Sea, Nyai Roro Kidul. Make sure that you wear a green outfit as this will...More

Black sand beach with many stalls to get some food. Wonderful photo opportunity of the sunset and you get to ride a horse here too. The waves are perfect for couples and friends to stroll around and to have a perfect evening.

The place is not clean. It smells moldy and has a poor infrastucture. We didn't go swimming since the ocean wasn't very inviting. Save your time and your money and skip this place.

Beautiful ambience, but lots of activites at e beach. There's ATV rides, horse-rides n even scrambler if ur into it. We were there for sunset, it was not disappointing, such a magnificent view. Glad that all e activities stop ride before sunsets.

There were a few lodges I spotted on my way to this place, do a google search you will find a few. But none of them would be walking distance. Call them up and check if they provide a scooter/bike/cycle

From Yogyakarta to Parangtritis we can go by bus from the place named "Pojok Beteng". The bus is available from morning to about 4 pm.
