We were surprised how few trekking route signs there were in Saariselkä. Luckily we had maps and Finnish reittikartta (routemap) app. October is a low season and it looked like there were some construction work going on. Maybe also those sign were under the renewal...More

Excellent cross country ski area for classic and skating. Very long trails mostly classic and skating far into the wilderness of lapland and very professional prepared trails around the city of Saariselkä more for the racing typ skier. Best time probably March and April.
