Hayden Valley is a wide open range, an excellent place to see wild life, and the king here is the bison. Here in the valley there is a herd of about 220 bison roaming around eating grass, and the sight is amazing! Sometimes they block the main road and you need the Ranger's help

This valley is an excellent place to see wild life, buffalo, elk, fox prong horns and even bears. Some times it is easy to see the animals and sometime it is harder. Always worth the drive. Too not many of the buses come up that way so it is usually not so crowed.

The West at its best; wide-open endless grassy plains, ringed by ranges of jagged mountain peaks on the distant horizon, sweeping vistas with creeks meandering across the plain ... this is one of your best bets to encounter buffalo.
