The drive up winding roads to this park is demanding but well worth the effort. The views across San Francisco Bay we’re amazing, but could easily be affected by low cloud. You need change to pay for the car park... no wardens.

My Tamalpais we learned is the birthplace of mountain biking..... I certainly couldn’t do it, but if you are an intense bike rider apparently it’s heaven!! There are several hiking trails that offer beautiful views. Be aware of fog and visibility. A trip up on...More

Hiking down to Stinson Beach and back was wonderful. Took about 4 hours, about 7miles round trip, including time for lunch at a fabulous taco place on the Beach. The hike back up was a little brutal for someone out of shape like myself, but...More

From Dipsea Trail, there are many trails to branch out; Steep Ravine, Muir Woods and climb up to Pantoll Range Station. Take your time. This is not a beginners hike. The terrain can get narrow and uneven. Focus on your footing and bring lots of...More

The views are amazing and worth the winding drive. Especially at sunset! The trails ups can be a bit challenging, so wear comfortable closed toed shoes.

I enjoyed a long ride through this park on a gravel bike. But MTB can also be done of you like to go more offroad. Roads are well kept.

No, it was on the Cataract Trail. The road to Bolinas is also very scenic, and I encourage exploring that too. I was fortunate to go at a time when we were having record rainfall.
