In1987, my wife and I took our two young daughters on a Spring break tour of all 6 parks in the Jean Lafitte group. Changed our lives! Music, food, culture were introduced and kept us coming back. Don’t miss the Barataria chapter. Tres bon!

I did not visit the park itself. I visited the visitor center on Decatur Street. Since the two are totally different experiences, don't assume that my comments here apply to the outdoor park. I have been to a great many National Park visitor centers and...More

Steam boat ride on the Mississippi filled with excellent history and information by the narrator. Drinks and food available for purchase. Pleasant scenic ride. Great Ranger talk at the park but not much to see.

My husband and I took this trail about 3 years ago in the winter-not the time of course to see alligators, but we enjoyed seeing a lot of other wildlife as well as taking in the swamp. Went again last week while we were in...More

Took my son & nephew for an afternoon outing. Walked the boardwalk, it was quite enjoyable with a nice view. Will go back when we have more time so we can explore a little deeper.

They took us to the bayou and we enjoyed seeing the alligators in their natural habitat. The pilot was really funny and the group not overly big, so lots of room for everyone to see. If you are going, I would recommend nighttime, as gators...More

Wonderful boardwalk through the swamp with plenty of wildlife to see! Trail is 4 miles round trip if you go to the end, so take water and maybe a snack. We only went about halfway and saw an alligator, raccoon, snakes and lots of local...More

Great exhibit of the history of New Orleans in a historical location built by the first architect of the city. Great signage, 7 minute movie, activities for kids, friendly staff and A/C, water and bathrooms. Plus it’s free!!!

around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

If the area isn't designated for parking, I'm not sure what might happen. Why not contact the specific park to find out what they suggest?

Yes you will but Wildlife activity will have diminished to some part due to it being a bit colder. That being said, I visited the area in early February and it was 80 degrees one day. Highly recommend this place for wildlife... More
