Did a tea tour at Damro. It used to be known as Mackwoods. Beautiful location where you can have a great view of its tea plantation. We joined the free guided tea processing tour and had a complimentary cup of tea after the tour. Very...More

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Sri Lanka and en route from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya earlier today we visited the Damro (NOT Mackwoods) Tea Centre. This was something I was really looking forward to but, unfortunately, left the property feeling very disappointed....More

I visited several tea factories. Damro Tea is a tourist hot spot. I usually avoid these places, but our driver wanted to go there anyway. The tour takes about 15 minutes and is done by rather bored looking guides. I don’t blame them. It is...More

Pretty setting, with a pleasant (short) free tour. The shop is very over-priced though, as is the cake they try to sell you with the free tea sample after the tour. It's fair enough of course, but something to be aware of

A good place to feel the tea culture and the making of it with a cup of Ceylon pure tea . The guide in the factory: mrs. Anusha she is the best of it. She can speak very good English and Chinese too.

Had a short tour of the factory, which was interesting but limited, the guide had her set routine and was slightly put off by some of my questions. The views here were good and we got to try some of the tea.

Very late reply-sorry, I didn’t see the alert. Tour was free but with an ‘optional’ tip for the guide. Purchasing tea not obligatory.
