If you are driving by, then it’s a great view and safe place to stop for a few minutes. History buffs may enjoy Oahu’s commemoration of Earhart’s solo flight from North America to Hawaii. Not worth coming out just for this though.

Gorgeous spot, great gem away from the crowds of Waikiki, lanika beach 5 mins away also very beautiful. Walked the pillbox Hike in lanikai. I have to say, dangerous.. rocky, broken crevices all the way. Definitely not what I expected, rugged. Views are spectacular but...More

On a trip in May 2018 we came across this part of the island on our round-the-island drive. Great place for a break, water was clean and calm, not too many people as it was not during the peak times.

We stopped here on a day trip from Honolulu. We did the pillbox bike at Lanikai then stopped here to eat our lunch. A great beach with some people but not horribly crowded. A definite must stop on a tour of the island.

This was my favourite beach we visited in Hawaii. Great views, white sand, clear water and the water does not get too deep too quickly. When we visited it was not so busy either which was nice.

As one of Oahu's best beaches, Kailua offers plenty of everything: sand, wide open space, way fewer crowds, and a good park to go with it. We used it late in the day yesterday from 3 to 6 PM . So quiet. So peaceful.

Lots of beach for a long walk. Warm water. When the trades are blowing the winds keep the temperature down a bit. An ample sized parking lot but can fill up depending upon the time. Good launch beach for OC1, surf-ski, kayak, etc., but avoid...More

We hired a car and spent some days visiting beaches on the other side of the Island. Kailua Beach was quieter and more tropical with white sand and turquoise water. Just beautiful!

Beautiful sandy beach with calm waters that is great for kids. The water is pristine and the shoreline is almost a mile long and great for a beach stroll.

This beach was beautiful. Calm blue waters with white sand. Not very crowded. Bathrooms were close by. Parking was a little tricky.

I arrived at 9 and found a spot easily but it did get busy not long after that. It was a Tuesday even.

Not at the beach. There are no beach concessions at all, so make sure you bring your own food and drinks.
