If you are driving by, then it’s a great view and safe place to stop for a few minutes. History buffs may enjoy Oahu’s commemoration of Earhart’s solo flight from North America to Hawaii. Not worth coming out just for this though.

We stopped here on a day trip from Honolulu. We did the pillbox bike at Lanikai then stopped here to eat our lunch. A great beach with some people but not horribly crowded. A definite must stop on a tour of the island.
As one of Oahu's best beaches, Kailua offers plenty of everything: sand, wide open space, way fewer crowds, and a good park to go with it.
We used it late in the day yesterday from 3 to 6 PM . So quiet. So peaceful.
