Our first tour guide was a very well informed young lady who obviously enjoyed what she was doing fun and outgoing. I loved that the guides were dressed in period costume, there were a few along the way in the different rooms. Each providing detailed...More

Some beautiful stuff to see inside the palace. Where guides are available they appear knowledgeable. The chapel inside is lovely and it's nice to know that it is still very much in use. The grounds are lovely but it would be better if there were...More

Lovely village and scenery. Did not go in palace but gardens worth seeing. Royal Tennis court was worth seeing itself. Worth a visit

Our last stop on our day long tour was Falkland. We toured the palace and glad we did. It was nicely kept and another glimpse into the live of the Queen Mary and other royals of Scotland

Beautiful and interesting palace with lots of history and excellent guides/ information givers. We live half an hour from Falkland and it is our first choice go to place when we have visitors. Sometimes we just do the gardens but this time did both.

I was very excited to see Falkland Palace as I am very interested in Mary Queen of Scots and read that you could see her bedroom, and death mask here. However, much of the original palace of her time was destroyed and renovated in the...More

Having been to many, many NT properties we were very disappointed with Falkland Palace. The property in itself is small and pretty insignificant. The outside is far more interesting. Inside the rooms are dark and uninteresting and the guides, willing to please and keep us...More

This castle is so beautiful and has clear information of its history. Deliberately mostly unfurnished, so in totally original state. Amazing atmosphere. The walled garden is being bought back to life and well worth a look. Could have been there for ages, but unfortunately found...More

A gem for those who have an interest in Scottish history. It was brought to life by guides in the rooms who were both knowledgable and good at imparting this information.

A Palace where the Stuarts established a residence, and Mary Queen of Scotts used to hang out here. Supposedly site of the 1st Tennis court.Well furnished, with a complete explanation of how the Royals used to live.

As others have pointed out the house will be difficult due to the tight spiral staircases. The grounds are better but there aren't that many seats.

You should be able to walk around the grounds, but there are many stairs involved for interior so the pram wouldn’t be able to go on the tour.

Yes, you can explore the gardens only, which are well worth while as you can see the old real tennis courts too.
