We visited Charleston for a wedding. We were thinking of walking across the bridge, but the weather was horrible. Still we drove over the bridge from Charleston to Mount Pleasant and was impresionant. I highly recomend it.
It's a great place to enjoy your cardio, but it can get a little crowded with "trendy". Great view of Charleston. Parking has gotten much friendlier. Well-lit. Crowded enough that you should feel fairly safe. As a tourist attraction, let's call it a three...drive across...More
Not only is this bridge cool to look at, but it also has bike/pedestrian access for amazing sunset photos too. Access to the bike path from the Mt Pleasant side can be found from the Mt Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.
