It is undoubtedly, a fantastic place, I did the whole hiking around the crater, took us about 4 hours. It was the first time in my life I do hiking so.. for an amateur wasn't that bad and wasn't that difficult either, although there was...More

I drove (with guide) from Cotopaxi to Quilotoa. The drive was one of the most beautiful ever done, the scenery is amazing. It is quite a long drive to the crater, but never boring because of the beauty of the land. The crater lake itself...More

We did the 3 day Quilotoa loop and received the beautiful view on the crater laguna as kind of reward on the last day. There is no need for a tour. Just take the bus. The buses back to Latacunga will drive only every hour....More

Classic caldera lake, a must see but bring your warm clothes cause this is about 4000 meters. A bottle of oxygen would be handy too! The air is thin and walking very far is taxing!

If you’re in Ecuador and have the chance to go, it’s a must see. The rim is at about 13000 ft, so be prepared and go slow because of the thin air. The hike down to the lake is a little rough. Loose rocks and...More

The lake is definitely impressive as is the drive to get to Quilota from the main highway. The one disappointment is that the town is just steps from the crater so you don't feel like you are in the wilderness. Although, it does feel far...More

Yes you can do this in one day. But i do recommend setting aside 6 hours minimum if you intend to hike and fully take it in.
