The chasm is a gorgeous gash in the mountains. Absolutely worth the drive to experience. On the plus side of going in October - less crowded and spectacular fall foliage enhancing the views. On the downside, during the week there are no raft trips. I...More

It is worth the drive and time. Plenty of different activities for all ages. Simple walk of the chasm, adventure course, rock climbing, and wafting. Fantastic views everywhere you go. The rock formations are really neat to see. Check out their little museum inside the...More

We were at the chasm for 2-3 hours on a weekday and the trails were not crowded. The weather was perfect - a bit on the warmer-side for a fall day. Leaves were just turning. We had a vouchers for discounted entry into the Chasm....More

This place was breath taking, challenging, rewarding and educating. You get to see real evidence of plate tectonics! Might not sound cool until you see it! As a family we have exposed our children to tree top excursions and hiking on mountain ridges. And there...More

Although it was a light rain it didn't ruin the visit. We hiked the yellow, green and most of the orange trails. It was well worth the drive and weather. Gorgeous views, well maintained paths and informed staff. Definitely recommend if you are in the...More

Ausable Chasm is awesome. We were on both the yellow and green trails. The yellow is more challenging but well worth it. Not hard to do if you are ok with steps. The green trail could be marked better. Was so disappointed that the rafting...More

Spent half a day hiking down and up the chasm. Being there on a weekday towards the end of season meant we basically had the trails to ourselves. Usually I don't like to pay for a hike but its easy to see that they are...More

Hello, no reservations needed, just walk into the visitor center and make your choice whether yoy would like to tube down the river or raft down, or simply hike through the Chasm. You could also decide to do the ropes course

I would not take the baby on the raft. There is a safety reason for the 30 lbs minimum weight requirement. I would call the place to be absolutely certain.
