November is late into the season, I would call the zoo on that. The weather plays a role on that.

FAQ Answered Here! Q -Are Wednesday’s Free? A- Yes, General admission is free. If you want to go on the Monorail, visit JungleWorld, Congo Gorilla Forest, Children’s Zoo, Zoo Shuttle, Nature Trek, and Butterfly Garden, it will be an additional $6 per attraction, per person. It is worth doing the TEX upgrade which is $15 per person. Q - Is the Bronx Zoo crowded on Wednesday’s? A - Yes VERY! however only during certain months. You should avoid Wednesday’s during the months of June - the beginning of September. School is out in NYC at this time. Also during Spring break. Q - Can you rent strollers, wheelchairs and ECV’s. A -Yes, however no reservations are accepted. It’s on a first come, first serve basis. ECV’s are only available at the Southern Blvd Entrance. Fees/deposits may be required. Visit website for up to date fee information. Q- What time is best to get to the Zoo? A- 10:00 AM. Some of the attractions can get crowded or have long lines. I suggest doing monorail first, then JungleWorld, then Congo. These attractions can get crowded and you really want time to walk thru and value these beautiful exhibits. Q- Can you bring outside food? A- Yes, however I suggest bringing cups and buying the souvenir cup. You get free refills all day! It’s hard keeping drinks cold for an all day visit. Q- Is the Bronx Zoo open in the winter? A- Yes, however some attractions are closed or provide a different experience. For an example, Monorail, Children’s Zoo and shuttle are closed and the Gorillas are indoors. Q- How much is parking? A- Parking is $17 Q- Is it worth getting a membership? A- Absolutely! Not only are you supporting the Zoo, but you can visit other parks too! One all access visit for a Family can cost $239 (3 adults, 4 kids). A Family Zoos PLUS membership cost $210 for the year!! And that includes Central Park, Queens and Prospect Park Zoo! This covers 3 Adults and 4 children up to the age 17 and premium attractions. Please note, children pay an adult price at 13yrs old. Membership is the way to go. And you get discounts etc... ohhh and Holiday Lights is coming back this year and WCS Zoo Members get free nights (Nov 21-24) and 40% off tickets all other nights. Q- Is it safe around the Zoo? A- I prefer not to answer however everywhere you go, you should always be mindful of your surroundings. If you are really concerned about safety, the express bus leaves you by the zoo and you can take the train to the Bronx River entrance (there is a 5 min walk). Q- Is the Zoo open in the Rain? A- Yes, however they do close in snow storms. It is best to visit the website before heading over. Q- What days is Bronx Zoo closed? A- Christmas, New Years Day, Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Day. Always check the website before heading over! Q- Is the General Admission still free if the Wednesday lands on a holiday (ex: July 4th) A - Yes. Q- Do you have to buy tickets online? A- No, but folks who do, there is usually a discount offer for online tickets. They are not date specific and valid for a season. Prices and information is subject to change. Please always check the website for the most up to info
