The penguins are very well looked after. There are blind ones and ones with broken wings but all of them are happy and have an amazing life at the African penguin and seabird sanctuary.

I was touched by the hardwork and dedication of the sanctuary. The staff is very passionate about conservation of sea birds and I was lucky enough toi go on a behind the scenes tour. They also have adorable gifts and a delicious coffee.

Interesting visit for groups of more than 10. Not really a must see for singles or couples . A bit off the beaten track but if you are a commited conservationist well worth a look.

What a wonderful initiative in Gansbaai. Do try and go during feeding time to see the penguins properly. Still a great pitstop otherwise. Very informative and interesting. Donations what keeps them afloat so please bear this in mind when you visit.
