We loved Destrahan! Beverly was so engaging and informative, we had a wonderful experience on her tour. It is well worth the quick trip from NOLA. Lots of impressive artifacts in the house. We were especially moved learning about the Slave Revolt of 1811. Highly...More

Very informative and educational. The guide really knew a lot about the plantation so that made it more enjoyable and She was about to add personal stories about the plantation to help us understand everyone’s role.

Frank was our guide and while very knowledgeable and passionate about the Destrehan Plantation, he was so focussed on delivering his speedy narration that it was almost impossible to ask any questions. Far too much information on the Destrehan family tree and if we hadn’t...More

This plantation was the first on our list to visit and the closest to the city, which made commuting easy. The grounds are beautiful with enormous live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Our guide, Judy was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Destrehan is a great place for anyone's first visit to a plantation. It's very close to New Orleans, only about a 36 min drive. Checking in is easy inside the gift shop and the majority of grounds are handicap friendly. The plantation home itself even...More

Not at all. Our tours begin every 30 minutes. You can purchase your ticket that day in the plantation store. Even if you purchase in advance and cannot make it. We give a 100 percent refund.
