The Tribune Tower is a beautiful historical neo-Gothic skyscraper located on North Michigan Avenue – another example of the wonderful Chicago architecture. It was built in 1923-5 afterwards the international design competition for the tower became an historic event in 20th century architecture.

As seen from the Riverwalk. This is a historical building that the architecture tour docents tell you a lot of information that you promptly forget. Take a picture to remember it!

Iconic part of the Chicago skyline. When we were visiting it was covered in scaffolding and being altered to be turned into shops and condos.

We could admire this beauty from our architectural cruise on the Chicago River. It was quite a show to watch buildings surge from the horizon. This one is particularly impressive and rock solid.

You can't see the rocks/ wall pieces, etc that are embedded in it's outside walls because of the construction. I wonder if they will still be there when construction is done?

A Chicago institution that helped shape American politics and more. Worth identifying along the Chicago skyline as you appreciate this great city.

It's a beautiful building, but beware it's currently under renovation (unless you want to watch it under facade restoration).

The incredible design and history still shows as a must see in the city. Blending in with the many newer sky scrapers, it is worthy of making sure you see it.

Over 100 fragments are embedded in the stonework around the building. There is also a piece of steel from the NY World Trade Center.
