Great visiting place being the non-believer myself. It was structurally magic with grand statue and grand auditorium halls. I will recommend 2 all my Buddhist contacts who wants 2 seek some grand inner peace while viewing Batam island.
You can visit this Temple to get an idea about this place and peace. Not much far from Batam Center Sea Port. Easy access. You can find food stalls and restaurants just opposite of the front part of this really big Temple.

A large Buddhist temple. Good place for meditating but unfortunately, I was visited it during Sunday which they have Sunday class in main hall. Good vegetarian food in the restaurant. Remember to buy some souvenirs and vegetarian food for home.

Place for Buddhist worship with nice range of vegetarian food in the restaurant. Quite Surprised to see a well built Buddhist temple here.
Only spend 30mins as i already had my meal and did not try out any of the vegetarian food.
