Trifecta: Ottoman ruins next to Roman ruins overlooking Palestine and Syria with a clear view of the Sea of Galilee. After wandering around the ruins, treat yourself to lunch at the onsite cafe and soak in the view while sipping a refreshing lemonade.

Thought Umm Qaiss was absolutely amazing. Not only are there Roman ruins but you can actually see Palestine and Syria from one point which was absolutely crazy!!

It was interesting to wander around this site but the main reason we travelled all the way from Amman was to see the amazing views.....unfortunately there were hazy conditions and we weren't able to experience this :(

A visit to Um Qais is a must if traveling to the north of Jordan. September was a nice time to be there as the weather was pleasant, but I’m sure a spring time visit would be even better. Northern Jordan is known for its...More

Yes the museum is good but only a small part of the Umm Qais experience which is the gist of my review. The museum is nice but small but there is a vast archaeological site in pristine condition and wonderful view of the Syrian border...More

The place is not very huge, but there are few ruins in excellent condition. You can enjoy breathtaking views from the top of the mountain and enjoy artifacts in the little museum. Museum is inside the Ottoman governor house, but there is also temple of...More

More than the ruins of Gadara, I was fascinated by the tranquility of this place....and as you scan the landscape and see Syria, Golan Heights (a Syrian territory occupied by Israel since the six-day war of 1967), Lebanon & Israel beyond the Sea of Galilee,...More
