Everyone should see the view from the upper part of Nazaré. The view is spectacular, the ancient cathedral is worth a look, and I cannot imagine being here and not taking advantage of the historical aspect of this town.

No free parking anywhere that we saw. We parked in our hotel parking lot and walked everywhere. You might find street parking either early or late in the day. The access to the funicular is located at the near the north end of the beach. Amazing views from the top! Although sights up there are limited, it is very pretty and worth your time.
