The University of Stellenbosch campus is spread over a large area and there are numerous older buildings with attractive facades and architecture.
We live in a university town in Colorado USA and so we felt VERY at home here. It was a delight walking thru campus ,observing the students going to their classes and stopping at the Sasol Art Museum. At a vineyard we went to.....our waitress is a university student.....and so…
This is rated as the 3rd best University in the World. The University got excellent lectures and a great atmosphere. It is very clean and give you that feeling of the old Cape Town and when here it feels like you are taking a visit back in history.
The buildings of the university are generally in a good condition of maintenance and management although the area is spread over a large area and to a stranger somewhat incoherent.
The campus is a big part of the town with interesting architecture just adjacent to the downtown. You can do a lovely walk thru their small botanical garden which has a nice gift shop.
