Really liked the wilderness area, garden of delight and the lakeside cafe. A real oasis in a busy, hectic city and not to be missed!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 March 2023
- bsinghGandhinagar, India185 contributionsClean and GreenA well maintained park near the Humayun tomb. It is a clean and green island in an otherwise polluted Delhi. There is a children’s play area. The Bonsai house needs to be better designed for a proper display of the plants. The park has an amphitheatre where musical and other programs are organised. There is a Fabcafe which serves good food and snacks.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 December 2023

After the end of the British Raj era, the area was left unattended for decades, falling into ruin before restoration finally began in the late 2000s. The restored gardens are amazing. The nursery is filled with flower beds, well tender lawns, plant and there nursery. A surprisingly well tended park considering the state of many Delhi parks. The nursery is also home to many Mughal tombs of important members of the Mughal administration, though not any of the emperors. The most important tomb is that belonging to Mirza Muzaffar Hussain. While Sundarwala Burj, Sundarwala Mahal and Lakkarwala Burj are also worth seeking out.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 18 February 2024
- joellen0713Connecticut266 contributionsA great spot to relax and people watchThis is a place Delhi-ites go to relax and escape the craziness of the city. The gardens and buildings have been beautifully restored and are a pleasure to walk around but what I loved most was seeing local people out enjoying themselves. We visited on a Saturday and the park was full of people having picnics, playing bingo, taking selfies, playing frisbee. It was great to see another side of Delhi. It is very near the Lodhi Gardens and Humayan’s Tomb and the three together make for a great day.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 March 2024

A good big garden with a big variety of plants, however a lot of trash everywhere. Some vendors on site during the weekends. Some hiding spots as well.

I go there several times every year in winters. It is a very nice and clean place though there is parking problem every time. They don’t allow smoking as they have designated a separate smoke zone which is fantastic. Nobody plays music on their loudspeakers, so there is no noise. Sports are not allowed so thankfully there is no ball or cork flying off from diff places. The first and only bad experience that I had this time were low flying vultures. Suddenly when my friend was eating her food close to the jheel, from mowhere a vulture came, flew so low that it hit my head and flew off. I was shocked.I sat still for good 2-3 mins after that. My heart almost skipped a beat. Then I just felt zapped.gradually my head started aching and in the next 1-2 hours, the pain increased. At night I had to take a medicine for headache finally

This is a lovely relaxing place away from the frenzy of Delhi. The grounds are very well kept and are a very safe place for a visit.

The place was super crowded.. But I am attribute that to the fact that the weather was conducive to families and groups enjoying the Delhi spring. The place was like a spring paradise, it had everything one needed; Like flowers in all colors, shapes and sizes, birds chirping, clean water bodies with aquatic birds gracing them. It was clean (for a change compared to other parks in Delhi). And it had security personnel monitoring the place. (BIG PLUS) There is a play area for kids with many options ; and a tree house. The nursery is garnished with historical monuments that stand a witness to the past and cater to a future generation. My only grudge... is that the food options are limited; and highly overpriced. It would be best to carry ones own food. but that kind of dampens the "keep it light and easy" spirit. All is all a good place to invest over a weekend.
DO note that they have entry fee of rs 50 per adult, rs 25 for senior citizens and kids, and Rs 100 for car parking. Those expenses I found worthwhile due to the facilities provided.

Can we order food from zomato/swiggy when in sunder nursery?
Shweta Sarkar G
New Delhi, India104 contributions
Yes.but the gate is too far. So incase you don’t get place near the entry (which we have never managed to get), then walking upto the gate (main road) and then carrying back lots of food to the interiors is slightly painful.and the best place to sit is actually at the far end where the monument and the small pond is (where Fab Cafe is located)
Is is permissible to open restaurant in sunder nursery?

A restaurant is there and small food stalls are present. You may contact the administrator of the park for details about opening a restaurant in the park.
