Visiting the Labuk Bay proboscis monkeys was a real highlight. We were totally delighted, charmed, amused and sometimes laughed out loud at the antics of the proboscis as well as the solomn heart faced silver fern monkeys. They seemed to ignore the humans and bounded...More

Following several days viewing wildlife in the natural jungle habitat I appreciate getting a closer look. This would not have been as meaningful without that context. Quite an interesting experience.

I visited this ‘sanctuary’ in hope of seeing a similar conservation and protection of these wild animals, and their natural habitat, as the Sepilok Orangutang sanctuary, however this was far from the truth. We paid a very high fee to enter the ‘park’ only to...More

Not sure what to think about this place. Five stars for the primates - the proboscis monkeys are very cool to see and so are the silverleaf monkeys that hang around. Less stars for the place itself. It is not a real sanctuary. The monkeys...More

A good example of how Borneo is not chasing the tourist dollar, so many missed opportunities. Great for us though as you can enjoy these places without feeling obligated to spend any money. The open walkway is full of Silver Leaf and Proboscis Monkeys. They...More
