This was a late afternoon excursion to the Moon Valley. This allowed for a sunset vista on the moonlike terrain which provided a light intensification of the impressive landscape. We climbed a sand dune in order to gain the best view which was hard work...More

Do it with the bike, thats the only way to enjoy it. Beautiful landscapes and terrain prepared for biking makes it perfectly enjoyable!

Awesome place. It is worth to go there by bike and stay until sunset. They allow bikers to enter only before 1PM. But later it is also possible, the entry point is on a desert, so you can find a track to bypass it

Valle de la Luna is a must for anyone visiting Atacama. It’s a bit of a trek up to the dunes but well worth it. Watching sunset is amazing but be prepared for it to be busy. Top tip, wait until after the sun has...More

A bizarre landscape with a magnificent dune with a really sharp outline. Really a lunar landscape and lovely to walk in it virtually on ones own if you get there early.

Very very hot at noon or afternoon. Protect yourself very good ! We could not reach the area of the moon landscape wich you see in the brochures but we did a great walk to the top that gives fantastic views !
