Arriving at Tiahuanaco by road via Desaguadero, it was quite journey, the road was in good conditions, the town roads not so, there in the main plaza you will find the replication of many of the statues hosted in the Tiahuanaco museum, which one says...More

I combined my visit here with Tiwanaku. I was hoping to understand this mysterious place better, but when I left, I had more questions than when I started. What is clear at Puma Punky is the skill and precision by which these stone monoliths have...More

I was amazed at the stone masonry when I visited Puma Punku. The way they made such precision cuts in the rocks is amazing. Some are perfect angles and beyond logic. They also have huge rocks that they lifted and moved around which would be...More

The Puma Punku part of the complex was awe-inspiring. It was truly marvellous to be able to spend so much time in this part of Tiahuanaco. There is a lot of civic and domestic construction, all of which tell a significant story and all of...More

It is the best site EVER! This was my #1 bucket list item and it did not disappoint. It's sad that 90% of the people who go to Tiawancu drive right by and don't go here. DON'T miss it.

On our recently concluded trip to South America including Peru, Bolivia and Chile, Pumapunku would go down as the most frustrating yet intriguing. Frustrating because no one knows why this place was even built and the ruins and artefacts excavated are all over the shop....More

To see this site with your own eyes is unnerving. To think that these granite blocks have been laying here since Lake Titicaca overwhelmed this area, maybe 12,000 years ago, is just crazy to imagine. The engineering and shaping is just so perfect, that even...More
