Every great city needs a river and this is Osaka’s. Iconic imagery, wonderful restaurants and all the hustle, bustle and general madness you’d expect from Japan’s second largest city. Get a photo with the Glico running man.

You can eat, you can drink coffee, you can shop for souvenirs and cosmetics for your friends and relatives. Always noisy always crowded especially on weekends, but it's a great place to feel real vibrant Osaka. Love it every time I visit there.

The area is a must when visiting Osaka. The crowds are daunting at first but everyone is polite and good humoured. The neon display at night is exactly what a visitor to Japan expects. Osaka is Tokyo on steroids!

Dotonbori is a place where you can go in day and night time, though night time is more vibrant with all the neon lights. Lots of shops and restaurants. Takoyaki, okonomiyaki, sushi, ramen, fugu, cream puff, whatever you feel like eating you can find it...More

There are lots of shops ready to serve foreigners. Quality of food may not be too authentic as they will have to consider the tastebuds of foreign tourists and prices may also be aimed at tourists. A little too touristy for my liking but definitely...More

This neighbourhood is alive during the day as well as at night. Crazy decorations everywhere, great places to eat (kaiten sushi is the best!), shops with cute stuff. I loved it!

Absolutely. Just as a note, most of the food stall food items are made to be eaten immediately or they end up not as tasty. However, they can and will package everything to take home, if desired.
