This river has large banks on each side for strolling along. Every time we crossed the bridge over this river while walking around, people were sitting on the banks and chatting looking out at the river, or even having a little picnic. It didnt matter...More

The river definitely adds to the beauty of kyoto. A long river with a narrow green path, suitable for chilling, walking or biking. You can see ducks and other birds in the river, beautiful.

Lots of selection of food and drinks in this town by the river. However, when we went there in the evening, all the dining seats by the river (which is what we came here for) have all been taken up in every restaurant. In the...More

You can walk on both sides of the river and its very calming. The river itself isn't that deep. You can see the herons flying around. We went during the summer open market weekend - it was busy but great atmosphere - food and drinks...More

By about your 3rd day in the city, you will probably be suffering from being "templed out". This is a very real and understandable condition. After a while. all the temples and shrines start looking alike and boring. Taking a nice stroll along the river...More

While walking along this strip of land, you can hear water flowing on either side of you. I was very relaxed as I saw lovers quietly sitting on the banks holding hands, and people on the other side having dinner or drinks on the well-lit...More

Kamogawa is a clean river where fishermen catch fish and we wet our feet after long walks. Surprisingly, the embankments are little equipped, at least in the southern part where we were. Probably, the locals have enough parks and gardens for relaxation.

So many choices along the river and a lot with different quality food. Check the reviews online. All seem to have a welcoming vibe, mainly due to it being RUN by tourists!

City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its

bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to
peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home

is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and
