This beautiful church was built in the site where the last Czar of Russia, Nicholas II, was shot and killed along with his family members. The Orthodox church was erected in 2000. It is not overly large, but very beautiful.
Besides being the site of the Romanov massacre, the small museum by the church has some blockbuster documents — Nicholas’s signature on an abdication message, “Dear Nicky/Dear Willy” correspondence from the start of World War I, Bolshevik documents relating to Romanovs’ murder.
