A Buddhist temple. Gorgeous, impressive 3 storey pagoda. There are many stone statues and monuments. Further behind, there is a grave site. Beautiful trees and plants, and can be seen that they are well maintained. Excellent toilet facilities. Do look out for the 1,200 years...More

A very quiet place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful temple and surrounds. Very few tourists apart from us and great photo opportunities.

The temple and tree area not that impressive but there are almost no tourists and you can see Japanese people pray so it feels very spiritual. There is also an old monk writing the goshuin who looks picture perfect.

We visited in the evening and it was lovely to see the pagoda without the crowds. The Ginkgo tree is not to be missed, really impressive and not something you see everyday!

The original buildings of Takayama's oldest temple were constructed in the 8th century, but were destroyed. The buildings from now dates from the 16th century. A beautiful pagoda and an impressive ginkgo tree are not to be missed.

Dropped by to see this little temple in the rain. Not a lot to see other than the famous huge Ginko tree.

Close to the station, this is a neat temple and pagoda with a huge 1200 year old Ginko tree. Worth walking through while in town, allow about five or ten minutes
