We had a wonderful day out with Celil and highly recommend him.
Our trip to Ani and the castle near the Georgian border were amazing. We suggest you go for the full day and make the most of what Kars can offer. He taught us...More
The world heritage site at Ani is the one "must visit" site in the Kars area. Photo ops abound, and you are exploring the original capital of Armenia.
Ironically, you are inside the border of present day Turkey and within sight of the Armenian border....More
Municipal bus left outside the Cihangirzade cafe (Old Antik cafe), Kars at 10 am. The bus returned from Ani at 13.20 and cost 9 TL each way. A white sign with red lettering at the corner of Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Pasa Caddesi and Falk Bey...More
We visited with a group and an excellent guide. Take your time, take water and enjoy the views across Turkey and across the border into Armenian. This is still largely unvisited despite having so much historical significance. The site is haunting and left an indelible...More
A city with every culture every church has a different atmosphere only the bad thing is that the treasure hunters dig too many places and if you are on your way to Kars, you should definitely visit them.

Local buses do leave from the corner of antik cafe but (Nov 2017) it leaves at 11. Just ask inside the cafe at what time will be bus arrive. It also depends on the amount of people. May there not be enough people, the bus won't leave. I hitchhiked there and back today, without a problem. Left at 9.45 and was there by 11. The bus is 14TL. Cecil is also able to organise a private car for 150. That will be divided by the amount of passengers there are.
