Smaller volcano at the edge of Sierra Negra volcano. Volcano was active several months ago, so you can see quite new lava channel there.

After climbing the Sierra Negra it is worthwhile to go a little further and visit the CHICO as well . We could see the lava trail and other fascinating volcanoes holes and such

Hiking up Volcan Chico is definitely worth the trip. The view into the crater is amazing--you can see the entire rim around the crater and lava flows from different eruptions. It's not a strenuous hike, and you can seek plants and birds along the way....More
