You can post a letter here and future travelers will look at the address. If it is near them, they will hand deliver the message. It's an ancient custom. You can also see some ruins of the former settlement, but beware of the numerous wasps...More

It was interesting to visit Post Office Bay to see the famous barrel where you look for postcards from people who live close to you so that you can hand deliver them back to those people. Our guide told us that we could mail them...More

We were told the story that since the 18th century there has been a mail box here for whale hunters and sailors. It was a lot smaller than I expected. Our guide gave us post cards from previous visitors and if you lived near anyone...More

There's not much to see here (the post office). Letters and cards left just a few days before your visit. The story and history about the post office is enough to know. I recommend spending time by just wandering around and enjoying the nature.

We visited here during our cruise in the Galapagos. Seeing all the postcards at the "post office" was neat. Snorkeling here was also great. The high point was the sea turtles. I had been in the water with turtles before, in Hawaii, but never with...More

This is a must do tradition. Never mind that it's been slightly amended for us tourists. But take a postcard(s) with you and leave it here addressed to yourself or whomever you want. Then take a look at all those already there and take back...More

Fun thing to do from the Galapagos. Send your loved ones a letter from the Galapagos. Write it and leave it in the post box. Someone comes along sees that they live near them and takes it home with them and hand delivers it. NB...More

We walked past the mailbox along the water to a nice bay where we went snorkeling in the afternoon. Saw a ray, lots of fish and a couple of sea turtles. The mailbox is just that a place for people to leave or pick up...More

A delightful wet landing. We did not walk to the bay but we spent several hours late one afternoon enjoying the beach & the wildlife while the crew played football. It is well worth dropping off postcards as all ours made it... More
