We visited this palace a few days before heading to the Forbidden City in Beijing, and to see both juxtaposed was quite something. The exhibition on Puyi's life was, although a little lost in translation at times, thorough and informative. The complex was well signposted...More

Easy to reach by public transport, local metro train, and a well preserved "palace". I learnt a lot of history walking through the buildings and it is well worth a visit if you have a spare couple of hours, as we did.

What a strange story is that of Pu Yi, the last Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. When you hear about some of the things that occurred it's hard to believe that they took place as recently as the 20th century. It has made me want...More

Interesting palace museum of the last emperor of China. It even had a garden and a swimming pool. The posh car used by the last emperor is parked in the compound.

About 3-4km or 40-50mins walk from Changchun's train station lies one of the best preserved historical sites I've come across during my year studying abroad in China: the palace/prison of the Manchurian regime's figurehead Pu Yi. Simply a 'must-visit' for anyone visiting Changchun.

The Puppet Emperor's Palace is located in a rural area of Changchun. It cost 80RMB for entrance. But the price is well worth. The palace is well preserved and you will find many rich historical artefacts. However, do read up before you go there to...More

This palace is also known as the Imperial Palace of the Manchu State and is basically a museum about the China's last Emperor, Puyi. There was a movie made in 1987 about his life. This is the museum to the same man. The palace was...More
