It was pretty quiet on the morning I was there. Perhaps this place comes alive in the evenings? I was not very impressed. There were several blocks of European-style residences, restaurants, snack shops and souvenir stalls.

Interesting shops and restaurants, in a neighbourhood with Baroque style buildings. You feel like walking in Europe.

The area is under going renovations with some shops and restaurants. During Harbin Winter Festival they have an Ice restaurant that is open at night.

We took half day to walk into streets and lanes to find something special, like destroyed building or ready to pull down, and some were reconstructed, with fake aura.

If it is your first time in Harbin, you should visit Lao DaoWai, have a great place that does and sweet sugar food, (cannot remember the name), the area is full of history and one of my favourite places visit.

there are a lot of cloth store,cake store, food store, shop and school, bus, texi. many people like walk to buy many toys in there.
