The museum in the very center of Belgrade has not worked for a long time and is finally reopened and re-available to visitors. Well organized excellent organization, even security was educated ... it was interesting to me that they had a mummy exhibited with all...More

I enjoyed most the ground floor with the archeological exhibits. There was a lot to read (in English as well as Serbian), but I wish the artifacts had been lableled better--and a number were replicas. The art covers the top two floors.

Hmmm... not exciting in any way. 3 floors, paintings and some archeological findings. Awkward and illogical entrance and exit. Eclectic displays and maps are not in english. Cool modern art section. So much security though, wonder why. 300 dinars, 45min wondering around.

Recently reopened after 15 years in restoration, the museum is spanking new, but suffers from one major problem: it does not know what its mission is. Part of the museum is devoted to Serbian history, starting from the prehistoric up to the medieval Serbian kingdom....More

We visited on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was free that day. As it is closed on Mondays, we made the most of the time there. It is not so much a national museum in the sense that you will...More

I was in two minds about going here, based on some of the reviews, but it's an interesting collection, cheap entry, and a good choice for a couple of hours. The collections do jump a bit abruptly, but I probably wouldn't have noticed had I...More
