if you choose to walk around the city, this is a nice place to start then walk towards the old part of town.

This memorial is located in central Sarajevo and there are many important tourist sites in the immediate area. A pedestrianised street leads from here to the old town. Not surprisingly, to see the flame at its most impressive, visit at night.

This memorial is located on a busy triangular shaped intersection. While I found other Sarajevo sights quite moving and thought-provoking, this flame brought on none of those emotions. If you are pressed for time in the city, this is not worth the stop.

This memorial is to those who fought in WWII against the fascists. It talks of solidarity among the various peoples of Yugoslavia in that struggle.

Simply it’s a fire but it’s the fire memorial for the penalties paid by Bosnian people for the massacre during the bloody war 1992-1995.

You’ll certainly walk past this while walking around the city center. It’s worth a look...especially in the rain or in cool weather.

Easy to find, but at the end of the day, without the symbolism, its just a fire. Nice to take a picture and move on to better sights nearby.
