Last Inca site before Macchu Picchu. The site has impressive terracing and is a good example of Inca planning and architecture. Great views, big steps to walk up and down but are in good condition.

If you ever get the chance to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu take it! The hike is amazing and the site itself is out of this world...certainly on top of it!

She gave us a bewildering walking trip in the area! She recognized her stuff and was great to be round for the scarce hours of the trip!

We camped at Winay Wayna our third night of hiking the Inca Trail and hiked the short distance to the actual ruins. The terraces are amazing, and provided supplemental food for the residents of Machu Picchu. We were blessed with a spectacular rainbow literally from...More

Though the views are likely better towards the Sun Gate, the effort to climb and see the Sun Gate to the Urambamba River, with the Machu Picchu Monument in the middle is awe inspiring. I'm 62 and did the up in 1 hour and 1/2....More

We stopped a Winay Wayna during our 2D Inca trail and were blown away by its beauty. Backed by a waterfall, dense forests and llama's grazing in the ruins, it was a sight to behold. There are steep steps to climb so be prepared. But...More

This is about the half way point if you're doing the one-day Inca Trail and, I believe, close to where you spend your third night on the four-day trek.

Here offers spectacular views and a different angle to Machu Picchu. You must endure the 1 and a half hour round trip however, but it is well worth it!
