A street for pedestrians, downtown, with lots of shopping and modest places to eat. Not especially pretty, but very practical.
Very busy, no vehicles allowed. We like the street musicians that always seem to be there. Be very careful at night.
Busy traditional shopping street with loads of street vendors. The galleries around the Paeo Ahumada is more interesting (and cheap). Funny, modern art decoration lights up this street. Watch out for pickpockets.
No visit to Santiago will be complete without heading to Paseo Ahumada. A classic. Be aware of your belongings, don't flash your money (it sounds obvious but the amount of time I've seeing people doing so....). If you don't behave as a careless tourist you can walk from Alameda…
That's part of your centre visit. There are a lot of local stores that sells cheaper things. You have to be aware all of the time at your wallet.
