We spent a week in the Puerto Varas. It was great there are many things to do and see. All were great beware of the weather it seems to rain there a lot.

The lake is beautiful in sunshine as behind it are two snow covered volcanos which are awesome and a great backcloth.

We drove all along this large lake from Puerto Varas to Frutillar. The scenery was lovely, towns interesting, beaches inviting. One can see the Osorno volcano across the lake on a clear day. We especially enjoyed sitting by the lake with a cup of cappuccino...More

Lovely little sea-side village with a great beach and views of nearby volcanos. Unfortunately, it was rainy and overcast when we were there (February 2018) but we enjoyed walking through the town and getting some photos on the beach.

This lake is very big and has several small cities surrounding it. The views of the Osorno volcano across this lake are stunning and the view of the lake from the top of Osorno is equally fantastic.

We came to Puerto Varas as part of Celebrity Cruise excursion out of Puerto Montt, Chili. Lake Lago Lianquihue is the second largest lake in Chili with about 870 sq. miles. The town and the large are framed by Mt. Osorno, a snow capped volcano.

Stopped at Puerto Varas on our way back to Puerto Montt. Most of the group went to see a local church. Lots of hotels and restaurants. Gateway to Patagonia. Would be an interesting place to stay for a few days. Great view across the lake.

Yes, there are. You would arrive at Puerto Montt Airport and get transportation to Puerto Varas. You can check with your hotel if they arrange for airport pickups. We rented a car and were really happy to have it. More... More
