A beautiful 2-hour walk around the bay We had a beautiful walk around the Bay. We got out at the MRT station and walked counter clockwise around the bay. At the start, you could see the white Merlion statue across the bay. There is food...More

The atmosphere is always electric around the Merlion. There are always masses of people posing for photos. It is easy to get to using the MRT and nice just to soak in the atmosphere once you're done with the photos.

The famous Merlion is surpisingly small and, while easily photographed, rather disappointing. Even the souvenir shops nearby were disappointing, mostly selling drinks and fruit. Stop in if passing by. But not worth a special trip, with so much else to see and do in Singapore.

Decent place with good view of downtown. But too crowdy. People are just too busy posing and getting clicked which makes it feel more crowded.

We arrived just at sunrise. The photos were stunning. There were several photographers there as well. The lion was not spitting water so that was a little disappointing.

It’s a monument of half lion/half mermaid that spits water into river. Nice to look at for a few minutes but nothing more than that. I have not been impressed with Singapore

Catch the fireworks during Singapore National day celebration. It is also a pleasant morning or evening walk starting from fullerton hotel, cross the underpass to Clifford pier and towards merlion park.
