It was sureal standing in this space where so much has happened over time! Very difficult to take it all in but an experience to behold.

The Square itself is quite large as are the queues to get in. The volume of people is mind-blowing. Prepare to be patient and crowded, but a definite visit to appreciate the history of China

Tien'anmen Square is the heart of China in many ways. Although now dedicated to Communist China's history, it still echoes of past dynasties.

I had just watched the 70th year anniversary parade on television and wondered what the square would look like in person. It helped get a sense of the historic events that have occurred there recently. In the future I understand the significance.

This area is both a square (where the famous student uprising was) and a gate into the Forbidden city. Bring your passport to get through security checkpoint before you can get near the area.

From an historical and geo-political point of view T square is worth a visit. Can be usefully combined with Forbidden city. Be prepared to walk about 10 kms to do the lot although you can hire a dude with a wheelchair who will push you...More
